Introduction to My Very Own Genius Hour Journey

In my last posting I talked at length about using the Genius Hour in the classroom to inspire students to pursue their interests through learning and research. I hope to utilize this strategy of inquiry based learning within my own classroom in my upcoming block and eventually in my own classroom. In order to implement this with my own students, I think it is appropriate and advantageous for me to take part in my own Genius Hour. By participating in this project myself, I will have a nuanced understanding of how it works, the challenges associate with it, and the value it will truly have in a classroom learning community. In the coming week I will be taking some time to reflect on myself in terms of my personal interests and values and my own curiosities. From this I will select a topic or inquiry to be a basis for my Genius Hour project. As I continue on in my journey I will be blogging about my experience and my progress! I am looking forward to diving into the Genius Hour and I welcome any feedback or comments on my journey along the way!
